Annotation: From the American Folklife Center comes this beautifally designed site offering a series of very good exhibitions: From the the Library of Congress is an online exhibit using materials acquired concerning September 11 between 2001 and 2002. From the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University is an acoustic exhibition entitled Looking Back: 9/11 Across America. This 35-minute CD is being made available to cultural and educational institutions across the United States, and is available online. From the Center for Documnentary Studies and American Radioworks is a documentary program and online exhibit on "Days of Infamy."
Excerpt: The American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress is calling upon folklorists and other ethnographers across the nation to document on recordings the thoughts and feelings expressed by average citizens following the tragic events of September 11, 2001. These recordings and other documentation materials will become part of the Center's Archive of Folk Culture where they will be preserved and made available to future generations....
