Annotation: This site is part of the Lewis Mumford Center for Comparative Urban and Regional Research at SUNY-Albany. It is a scholarly website divided into six areas of interest plus an area for comments. There is an overview message from the director of the center, John R. Logan. The next five areas are labeled Lower Manhattan’s past, the contested skyscraper, the turning point, urban life under siege, the urban future, and the comments page. Each area includes images and links to other pages. Some include links to other historical sites which make World War II comparisons to London during the Blitz and Hiroshima during the atomic bomb blast.
