Annotation: Irish Abroad created this website as a tribute to people of Irish decent who lost their lives on September 11th. The site includes reflections, poetry, and Irish blessings, as well as lists of victims believed to be of Irish heritage. Each name is linked to a page dedicated to that victim. Viewers are able to add tributes and submit names to the list. There are survivor stories and speeches delivered by politicians. There are also links to stories that appeared in the Irish Voice including tributes to Irish police officers and fire fighters. The site also has a section dedicated to the history of the Irish in the United States.
Excerpt: September 11, 2001, will rank among the bloodiest days in the history of the Irish people. Nobody knows exactly how many were lost but we do know that thousands of members of the global Irish community will never see their loved ones again.
